What Ashwagandha Actually Does, And How Much Of It Is In Our Jar
Share
Hey.
Wired and tired at the same time. Exhausted, but your brain won't shut up at 11pm. Waking up already braced for something. Shoulders up around your ears so long you forgot they could come down.
Nothing is technically wrong. Your engine just never drops to idle.
How ashwagandha helps
Your stress system is supposed to switch on and then switch off again. Cortisol is what it runs on, and cortisol isn't the enemy. It gets you through the hard thing. The trouble starts when the switch stops flipping back.
Ashwagandha is an adaptogen, not a sedative. It won't knock you out or dull you down. It works on the signal that tells your stress system to ease off.
- Cortisol comes down. In one trial, adults under chronic stress showed about a 28% drop over 60 days.
- You fall asleep faster. A separate trial tracked 150 healthy adults with wrist monitors and found shorter time to sleep and better quality over six weeks.
- It's subtle and it builds. What people describe is looking back after a month and noticing a hard day landed softer.
Those trials used concentrated extracts. Ours is whole root at a food amount, which is the right call for something you eat every morning: no cycling on and off, no schedule, just a spoonful with breakfast at the same time each day.
Sea moss, ashwagandha root, lemon, lime, spring water. Warm and earthy with the citrus carrying it. Made fresh to order in Atlanta.
Reasons not to take it
- Any thyroid condition, or thyroid medication like levothyroxine. Ashwagandha nudges thyroid hormones up, and sea moss is naturally high in iodine, so this jar works on your thyroid from two directions. Check with your doctor first.
- Any liver condition. Skip this one.
- Sedatives, sleep medication, muscle relaxants or benzodiazepines. Same calming pathway, so the effects add up. Ask your doctor.
- Autoimmune conditions like lupus, MS or Hashimoto's. Ashwagandha stimulates immune activity.
- Pregnancy. Not at any amount.
